Guide: Using Clik Pump Head & Clik Pump Adapter
User Guide
Welcome to the Clik Pump Head and Adapter user guide. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for upgrading your existing pump with the Clik Pump Head and Adapter. Flip through the following pages for detailed guidance on replacing your pump head or using the adapter effectively.
Upgrading Your Existing Pump
Two Options for Upgrading Your Pump:
- Replace the Pump Head: Swap out your old pump head for the Clik Pump Head to enjoy seamless compatibility with Clik Valves.
- Use the Clik Adapter: Attach the adapter to your existing pump head for immediate use with Clik Valves without replacing the pump head.
-----------------------------
Replacing the Pump Head
Step 1: Remove Your Old Pump Head
- Option 1: Unscrew and detach the old pump head from the pump hose.
- Option 2: If the pump head cannot be pulled out of the hose, use a sharp blade to carefully cut the pump hose just behind the old head. Ensure the cut is clean and straight.
------------------------------
Step 2: Prepare the Hose
- Slide the hose nut onto the pump hose first.
- Next, slide one of the two provided ferrules onto the hose, ensuring it fits snugly. If neither ferrule fits, then they are not needed.
Step 3: Insert the Pump Head Barb
- Push the barb of the Clik Pump Head firmly into the hose until it is fully seated. Use a twisting motion if necessary to ensure a secure fit.
Step 4: Secure the Connection
- Slide the ferrule forward to meet the base of the Clik Pump Head.
- Tighten the hose nut over the ferrule to lock everything in place, creating a secure and airtight connection.
Using the Clik Adapter
The Clik Adapter allows seamless compatibility with Clik Valves. Follow the instructions below for your pump type:
If you have the Clik 2-In-1 Pump Head, you can unscrew the adapter from the pump head body.
Option 1: Installation for Threaded Hoses (Hand or Mini Pumps)
-
Attach the Clik Adapter:
Thread the Clik Adapter directly onto the hose by screwing it on tightly. Ensure it is fully seated to create an airtight connection. The Clik adapter threads into the female Schrader end.
Option 2: Installation for Lever-Style Pump Heads
-
Prepare the Pump Head:
Open the lever-style pump head and remove any internal components as necessary (e.g., gaskets or additional fittings). -
Insert the Clik Adapter:
Push the adapter into the Schrader port of the pump head opening until it is securely seated. You may need to twist gently to ensure a snug fit. -
Secure the Connection:
Close the lever to lock the adapter in place. Check for a firm hold before use. -
Test for Airtightness:
Connect the pump to a Clik Valve and inflate to ensure no leaks.
